Haiti Care Kit Donation Drive!!!


Question: WHAT CAN YOU DO as a student to help the people of Haiti?

Answer: DONATE materials to help make Care Kits for Haitians. Purchase hygiene materials and place them in the BIG BLUE donation BOXES around campus.


The Master of Public Health Student Organization (MPHSO) & Student Governing Council (SGC) are making Care Kits to donate to Heart to Heart International for the survivors of the natural disaster in Haiti. Each care kit contains hygienic supplies that will improve the sanitation and general health of the people who receive them.


Materials Needed: New hand towels, New Washcloths, Wide tooth combs, Small bottles of shampoo, New/Individually Wrapped Toothbrushes, Travel sized toothpaste, Adhesive Bandages, Individually wrapped bars of soap, Plastic travel soap dishes, One-gallon size zipper seal bags, Used/New Scrubs (for health care workers)


Where you can donate: (Look for BIG BLUE BOXES) Stoland Lounge, Dykes Library, Kirmayer Fitness, Hospital Cafeteria, and monetary donations go to the MPH Office in Wescoe 5021 (checks made out to Heart to Heart International)

First Meeting of 2010!!!


The MPH Student Organization would like to invite to our 1st meeting of the year!


Please join us for free appetizers and help us plan activities and events for the year. We will be discussing our efforts to assist the Haiti relief effort and other potential projects for this semester (bring your ideas).

The Millennial League Presents: Val-O-Ween
Costume or no costume, join us from 8-midnight at the Madrid Theatre in midtown to raise awareness and save lives!!

7pm - Your VIP ticket gets you access to the Be My Naughty Valentine VIP reception with entertainment by local artists Kathleen and Frenchie. Open Bar, passed appetizers and access to the VIP Bar.

8pm - Your General Admission ticket gets you into the biggest costume party of the year headlined by the Zeros, Kansas City's most recognized 80's cover band and will also feature ocal DJs NoMathmatics, your hostess for the evening Dirty Dorothy and free food and drinks all night donated by McCoy's and Clear 10 Vodka.

The Millennial League is a affiliate of the AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City, made up of members of the Millennial generation, who share in the mission to promote public education about HIV and AIDS.

All funds raised remain in Kansas City to directly assist the over 5,700 men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS locally. The AIDS Service Foundation of Greater Kansas City (ASF) equally divides funds raised among four major local AIDS service organizations: Kansas City Free Health Clinic; SAVE, Inc.; Good Samaritan Project; Hope Care Center.
