Student Volunteers Needed!

Hello:

I am looking for student volunteers for an exciting event that we (the KU Alzheimer & Memory Program) are doing in conjunction with the Heart of America Chapter of the Alzheimer's Association. This summer, researchers from across the country are biking from California to Washington, D.C. to raise awareness for Alzheimer's Disease and the Alzheimer's Disease Breakthrough Act. Dr. Burns, director of the KU Alzheimer & Memory Program, has agreed to ride from Wichita to Kansas City, over 230 miles, to support this act. We are seeking volunteers for a petition signing event on August 23rd to help collect signatures, via iPad, in a petition to support the Breakthrough Act.  Excluding myself, I need 7 volunteers to assist in gathering signatures that day, at the Barney Allis Plaza in downtown Kansas City. Volunteers will need to arrive at 9:00 a.m. for iPad training and will be done around 2:30 that day.

If you know of any students that would be interested in volunteering, they may reply directly to me at jgoodwin2@kumc.edu
More information on the Breakthrough Ride can be found here: http://www.alz.org/research/breakthroughride/overview.asp

Warm Regards,
